Physiological Influence of Water Stress Conditions on Novel HLB-Tolerant Citrus Rootstocks

چکیده

Citrus are one of the most relevant fruit crops in Mediterranean basin, which is second-highest citrus-growing region world. However, these mainly grown under semi-arid conditions, characterized by long periods drought and torrential rain. In this work, we have assessed response three promising HLB-tolerant citrus rootstocks (Orange-14, UFR-1, B11R3T27) to application four water stress conditions (Control, Mild stress, Drought, Flooding), comparing them with Carrizo citrange. Aerial plant symptoms were recorded during experimental period, whereas parameters, including stomatal conductance, leaf potential, relative content, obtained at end assay. For all variables, treatment was limiting factor, citrange being suitable rootstock condition. Flooding second restrictive treatment, UFR-1 least affected rootstock. Mid-water 50% requirements did not differ from Control can help save resources regions. This information be helpful for industry increase efficiency subject

Transcriptome Profiling of Huanglongbing (HLB) Tolerant and Susceptible Citrus Plants Reveals the Role of Basal Resistance in HLB Tolerance

Huanglongbing (HLB) is currently the most destructive disease of citrus worldwide. Although there is no immune cultivar, field tolerance to HLB within citrus and citrus relatives has been observed at the USDA Picos farm at Ft. Pierce, Florida, where plants have been exposed to a very high level of HLB pressure since 2006. In this study, we used RNA-Seq to evaluate expression differences between...

Physiological Responses of Some Rootstocks and Interspecific Hybrids of Pistachio to Cold Stress under Greenhouse Conditions

Cold is an environmental factor limiting the growth and yield of agricultural crops. To find cold-tolerant pistachio rootstocks, a factorial experiment was conducted at Pistachio Research Center (PRC), Rafsanjan, Iran during 2017-2018. The factors included six rootstocks (Badami Zarand, Ghazvini, Sarakhs, Integerrima × Badami Zarand, Integerrima × Ghazvini and Integerrima × Sarakhs) and four th...

Effect of Rootstocks on Physiological and Biochemical Responses of Vitis vinifera ‘Shahroudi’ to Salinity and Bicarbonate Stress Conditions

The synchronization of salt stress and dominance of calcareous soils in warm and dry climate regions has led to alkaline salinity stress in vineyards. In this study, the effects of salinity and bicarbonate stresses (alone or in combination) on photosynthetic reactions and nutrient variations of Vitis vinifera ‘Shahroudi’ as a susceptible grape cultivar were evaluated. Using stenting method, sci...

Influence of water stress on morpho-physiological and phytochemical traits in Thymus daenensis

Thymus daenensis is a medicinal plant endemic to semi-arid regions of Iran. A field experiment using a randomized complete block design with four replications was conducted to evaluate the effect of 20, 50 and 80% soil water depletion on morpho-physiological traits, essential oil content and composition and water use efficiency of T. daenensis during 2010-2011. Water stress reduced growth, ...
